- The GEPEMU project (Management of extreme rainfall events in urban environments and the treatment of the specific wastewater generated) is part of the national research programme into “Hydrology and hydraulics in urban environments” (HY2VILLE). This project handles the hydrological behaviour of urbanised environments for which risk management and environmental protection are currently becoming increasingly important.
- The European project LIFE ArtWET (for ARTificial WETlands), coordinated by LHyGeS, aims to reduce non-point source pollution due to pesticides products and bioremediation in artificial wetlands, such as vegetated ditches, detention ponds and constructed, agricultural and forest wetlands. It was launched at the end of2006 for a period of 4 years and brings together 9 partners from France, Germany and Italy.
- The GESTE research unit is a partner of the European project Facilités Eau GEMI (improving access to drinking water, basic sanitation and institutional support for the sustainable management of water in seven communities in the division of Mbam and Inoubou, in Cameroon),of which IRCOD is a recipient. For a period of four years, it will concentrate primarily on governing water by creating an intra-community structure which would ensure that water works were managed,as well as by organising cooperation between water actors in the project zone. The approach depends on the two Cameroon ministries responsible.
